An engineering change order carries the new version of the bill of materials and its operations, goes through the planned approvals, then applies as soon as possible or at a date.
What the PLM app does.
Each change is an engineering change order, with its description and owner (ECO).
New numbered version (V2, V3…); component and operation changes are shown separately.
Required approval, optional approval or comments only, by stage; changes apply only once approved.
Drawings and files attached to the order, linked to the new version once applied.
As soon as possible, or at a chosen date (Effective: As soon as possible / At Date).
You can find which bill of materials version was active on a given date: useful for a complaint.
