What we are asked.
Do you need Odoo Enterprise for the MRP?
Yes for quality control, the shop floor tablet app, the master production schedule, PLM and barcodes: these are Odoo Enterprise apps, included in the Odoo Online subscription. Purchase, inventory, manufacturing, maintenance and repairs also exist in the community edition.
Can we start with purchasing and stock, and add the MRP later?
Yes, and it is often the right order: accurate, valued stock first, then bills of materials, requirements planning and manufacturing orders on that sound basis. Apps are added in the same database, with no migration.
How does Odoo compute the cost price?
When the manufacturing order is closed: the components actually consumed, at their stock value, plus the time spent on each work centre multiplied by its hourly cost. With average cost, the finished product enters stock at that actual cost; with standard cost, the variance is shown.
Do you handle lots and expiry dates?
Yes: lots or serial numbers per item, expiry dates, first-expiry-first-out picking, and a traceability report that goes from the delivered lot back to the material lots, and the other way round.
And the landed costs of imported materials?
Freight, insurance, clearing and customs duties are added at receipt, split across the items received by weight, volume, quantity or value. The cost entering stock is the landed cost at the plant.
Our operators have no computer: how do they work?
On a tablet mounted at the work centre: the operator signs in, starts the work order, follows the instructions, enters quantities, scrap and checks, and reports a breakdown.
How much does an implementation cost?
A fixed price set after the assessment, depending on the apps, the number of sites, items and bills of materials. On top come the Odoo licences, paid to Odoo, and the Senedoo support contract.
